Why does Green Apple monitor federal and state legislation?

Green Apple monitors both federal and state legislation of significance to member organizations for several reasons including:
1)  to make the membership aware of pending or new legislation that impacts  child care, elementary and secondary schools, residential treatment  centers, substance abuse providers, and after school programs, and
2) to advocate on behalf of the children served in member organizations.

What should I do with the bill tracking information that Green Apple provides?

  • Review the proposed or new legislation.
  • Contact your congressional or state representative by telephone or email to express your thoughts on the legislation.
  • Attend Green Apple Days at the National Capitol or State Capitols
